CHOOSING BETWEEN CLASSIC & VESPER

The Vesper product line is our lightest cross-country and trail hub. The Classic product line is designed for heavier, high-torque activities like electric-assist bikes (e-bikes), bike packing, tandems, and bigger riders.

If you are looking to save some weight, feel free to mix and match hubs—run a Vesper in the front and a Classic in the rear where ultimate durability is demanded.

BUILT FOR E-MTB PERFORMANCE

The addition of electrical assistance puts considerable demands on a bike’s componentry, especially the drivetrain. The Classic hub line handles the additional torque and stresses applied by the motor with ease.

With the exception of the Ultra SS BMX hub, the Classic rear hub features the strongest sprag clutch mechanism available in the Onyx Racing Products lineup, making it the undisputed choice for transferring all the power from the motor and your legs to the rear wheel. No uphill is too steep, and no downhill is too long for the Classic hub.
